The Story of Us / About Me

This is the story of us. We met 19 years ago when I was 15 and he was 17. We worked in McDonald's together, it was my first job. I immediately had a crush on him, but his best friend liked me, and he was dating another. I dated his best friend briefly, but it took me off the list of girls he could date.

Years past, we both moved on with jobs, college, marriage (me), divorce (me), kids (both of us) and life. I never forgot about him, though. In July 2011, I was looking up old friends on Facebook and he was one of only 2 people that I had re-friended from my McDonald's employment - but I didn't message him or re-connect. In February 2012, he messaged me ... and it sat unnoticed in my inbox for over a week! But when I finally answered him and said hello... we immediately re-connected. A day and a half after our first FB message we went out on our first date to a Cuban restaurant and we've been together since.

From our first date, I knew he was "the one" for me. I remember putting my head on his shoulder to watch a movie afterward and I was too comfortable with him - after all there was 17 years that had past between the time we once knew each other. But I knew. I felt it. And it scared the hell out of me.

We once lived in the same hometown growing up, but now 43 miles and a state separate us. Seven months into dating and we've discussed moving in, having kids, buying a house next year - he's asked if I'm opposed to marrying again (which I said I was not) but we have yet to really talk about that!

I'm a romantic at heart. I also tend to over analyze and worry, so this is my personal journal of us. A little bit of romantic letters to him, a little bit of writing to get the worry out and a bit of daydreaming about the love of my life. So join me on our journey ... I hope one day we'll be able to look fondly back and reminisce about our times together. I don't want to miss a thing, so this is ... the story of us.
